The Oklahoma Healthy Food Financing Program offers grants and loans to food retailers to establish, renovate, or expand healthy food outlets in underserved, low or moderate-income communities. The program is housed under the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food, and Forestry and applications are reviewed quarterly.

The El Paso County Healthy Food Financing Initiative is a grant and low-interest loan program aiming to increase healthy grocery access in the highest need areas of the county. The opportunity is open to independent grocers as well as regional and national chain grocery stores. Program partners include the El Paso County Economic Development Department, UTHealth (School of Public Health El Paso) Center for Community Health Impact and PeopleFund.
The Harris County Healthy Food Financing Initiative (2019-2021) was a grant-only program created by the Commissioner’s Court. In addition to healthy food retail, the program supported nutrition education and urban agriculture projects to support food access in underserved parts of the county.
